Minda Garcia, a beloved Minneapolis community member and Vice President of the Customer Experience Center at Allina Health, has passed away, leaving friends, colleagues, and loved ones devastated by her loss. Known for her warm smile, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to others, Minda touched countless lives both through her professional work and her vibrant presence in the community.
Minda’s passing comes after her recent and courageous fight with a brain tumor. Friends shared that she had remained hopeful and strong, and many expected she would recover following treatment. News of her death came as a heartbreaking shock to all who cared for her.
Millin Dutta expressed the grief felt by so many, recalling Minda’s bright spirit and the joy she brought to every gathering. “I am shocked to know that I will never see your smiling face anymore,” Dutta wrote. “When I saw your post about the brain tumour, I was pretty sure it would be successfully removed. I was looking forward to another post from you, but instead I got messages from Janet and Bernice Arias. My heart is with Maggie and your family and friends.”
Minda was deeply involved in the Out in the Backyard (OIBY) community, where she was remembered as a constant, uplifting presence. She brought energy and fun to every event, creating an environment of friendship and inclusion. Her loss is felt especially strongly within the Zumba community in Powderhorn, where she was cherished for her enthusiasm, positivity, and kindness.
Colleagues at Allina Health remember Minda as a compassionate leader—someone who championed patient-centered care, uplifted her teams, and treated everyone with respect. Her dedication helped shape workplace culture in meaningful and lasting ways.
Minda leaves behind her daughter, Maggie, who was the center of her world, along with a wide circle of family, friends, coworkers, and community members who were privileged to know her. Her absence leaves a profound void, but her legacy of joy, generosity, and connection will continue to live on in the many people she inspired.
May she rest in peace, and may her loved ones find comfort in the memories of her remarkable life.
